So a little about me. I was born and raised in Canada. I completed my schooling at a local University there and began working eventually in the field of Law. I worked at that job for about 7 years and everyday I hated. It was extremely stressful and the clients I dealt with on a daily bases were well lets just say very interesting and demanding people. I wanted to do something else but couldn’t figure out what it was that I really wanted to do. All I knew was that I wanted a job that would give my the ability to travel and not be so repetitive.
In those 7 years I knew one thing that I really loved which was MAKEUP! So I continued working at the job that I was at but I changed my schedule to part-time and I pursued my makeup career the rest of the time. I learned everything I could about makeup and skincare, and I worked part-time at a department store helping women with their skincare needs and perfecting my makeup skills. This job really helped me in learning everything I know today about skincare and makeup which now looking back helps me everyday as a Flight Attendant. (posts to follow regarding makeup and skincare for travel).
So fast forward to last year when I finally decided to make a drastic change in my life and pursue what it was that I wanted to do. After working at a job I wasn't happy with and working long hours everyday and well lets be honest not being treated well by management, I finally decided that I wanted to become a…… Flight Attendant. (posts to follow on how and where I did my training)
And currently I live in Asia and am a Flight Attendant here. It was a very big decision to move to the other side of the world to a country which is still developing from a country that is already well developed, Canada. It took a lot of time and energy to make the decision. The main reason I made the decision was because I wanted the ability to see other parts of the world while getting a different cultural experience. I moved from the rain and snow to a place where its usually around 30-35 degrees celsius everyday and at night it gets to a low of about 20-25 degrees celsius. 25 degrees celsius would be a high for us in the summer in Canada. (more blog posts to follow about tips on how to become a Flight Attendant and on how to make a big move to a different country).
I sincerely hope you enjoy this blog. There will be the everyday struggles of navigating a country that is completely new to me and the struggles of communicating with locals that can’t speak english and I can’t speak their language. But there will also be new adventures and experiencing new cultures and traditions and hopefully learning a new language as well.
So sit back and enjoy the ride along with me through the ups and downs and hopefully I can provide you with some useful tips and tricks along the way.
